Permanent Residency for Doctors in Canada | Ontario’s New 2024 Program
On July 5, 2024, the province of Ontario issued 3,750 invitations to doctors and healthcare professionals with profiles in the Express Entry program to address the shortage of medical staff. Interestingly, the invited doctors had scores ranging from 379 to 430, which is significantly lower than the federal program. Normally, the minimum score required to receive an invitation through Canada’s Express Entry program is at least 505 points. - Have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system and be eligible for one of the FSWP or CEC programs. Additionally, they must have selected Ontario as their place of work and residence.

Essential Steps for Obtaining Permanent Residency for Doctors and Healthcare Professionals in Canada
To be eligible for Ontario’s Express Entry draws and receive an invitation for permanent residency as a doctor or healthcare professional in Canada, you must first qualify under one of the immigration programs managed by Express Entry.
To clarify a common misconception, Express Entry is not an immigration program itself. Rather, it is an application management system that represents an individual’s intent to immigrate to Canada based on various immigration programs.
To immigrate to Canada, you must first create a profile to indicate your intention to move. 3. Receiving an ITA
Wait to receive an ITA (or take steps to improve your score and increase your chances of receiving an ITA).
4. Applying for Permanent Residency
